Leighrallying completed their first rally after major rebuild.
The day started with the crew getting used to each other, as it was the first rally that Rob and Lizzy had done together and it was Lizzy's second ever rally.
The car was perfect the driver was very rusty (spinning the car on the very first hairpin) but totally enjoying himself .
The first 4 stages saw the crew getting quicker and quicker and by stage 5 there were setting fasted stage times of all the minis (6 in all). The next five saw the crew pushing

on to try and take the top mini position and at the end of the day they missed out on taking the top spot by only 1 second.
The crew came home 53rd o/a 9th in class and second mini. This was deemed to be a great result as there was some great competition out on the stages, and the car is in one piece with only one little scratch from a hay bail (see Photo).
Rob and Lizzy had a great day laughing there heads off half way round the stages.
Big thanks to Lizzy who did a great job on getting us round and to all the crew who kept an eye on the car all day.
Thanks for all the photos from Peter Owen from www.britishrallyphotos.co.uk
